You have multiple options to share your opposition to this project:
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the Los Angeles City Council is set to vote on approval of a resolution (an official statement by the city) in opposition to the LA ART gondola project. It is Item #48 on the agenda, and the meeting starts at 10 a.m.
This resolution is being put forward by the City Councilmembers who represent the communities that would be directly impacted by the gondola — CD1, CD13, and CD14, and it urges the Metro board of directors to deny approval of the project and its new Environmental Impact Report.
There are 3 main ways to provide public comment:
1) Attend this meeting in person to provide a 1-minute public comment in SUPPORT of this resolution and AGAINST the LA ART gondola project!
We need as many speakers as possible to push the LA City Council to do the right thing.
Date/Time: Wednesday, November 12, at 10:00 a.m.
Location: JOHN FERRARO COUNCIL CHAMBER ROOM 340, CITY HALL,
Address: 200 North Main Street
(You enter through the entrance with the security screening.)
Tips for in-person public comment:
a. We recommend people arrive at 8 a.m., as there are other controversial items on the agenda, and the meeting room may fill up. If this happens, it's possible people may be required to wait in line outside of City Hall or directed to an overflow room. If this happens, you may not be able to give public comment. But if you can get inside City Hall, you can sign up to speak on any of the kiosks and register your position on the item. (See tip b. below.)
b. Sign up for public comment at a kiosk inside City Hall. There are kiosks outside and inside the meeting room. Select that you are speaking on agenda Item #48. There will also be a drop down menu on the screen (it's very easy to miss) that lets you note your position on the item (support, against or general public comment). Select that you support or are speaking "for" the item.
c. Public comment happens near the beginning of the meeting. Public comments on all items are taken at the same time, and it's in random order, so you have to listen closely for them to call your name. Be aware that it's possible that they could mispronounce your name or call you only by your first name.
d. Look for other Stop The Gondola folks at the meeting. We can hold small signs (no wooden sticks) and sit together in solidarity!
2) Send letters to all LA City Councilmembers, the Mayor, and their staff urging them support this resolution using our Action Network letter campaign at http://bit.ly/city-council-no-gondola.
3) Submit comments to the City Council File in SUPPORT OF this resolution and AGAINST the gondola project. This will ensure that your email is part of the official record. You can do that here: https://cityclerk.lacity.org/publiccomment/?cfnumber=25-1295.
NOTE: After submitting your comment at the City Clerk's website, you will need to check for a confirmation email in your inbox (or Spam folder) and click on a button to confirm your public comment. It can take 24 to 48 hours for your comment to appear on the webpage for the council file.
For suggested talking points, please refer to our Metro Draft SEIR Public Comment Toolkit.
Please submit a comment letter on the new Environmental Impact Report for the proposed project.
Metro has led the public to believe that only comments on the information contained in the Draft Supplemental EIR are relevant. That is not true. Since we won at the Court of Appeals, ALL COMMENTS AND CONCERNS are once again on the table.
If you, your residence, or your business would be impacted by the project’s construction and operation, we encourage you to add your own perspective to your comment.
Please click through to our Action Network letter campaign to quickly email a comment letter to Metro. This will ensure that Metro has to respond to your comment in the Final EIR. A copy of your email to Metro will also be sent to us at stopthegondola@gmail.com. We encourage you to modify the letter to reflect your primary concerns about the project and the EIR.
If you would prefer to draft your own letter and/or include attachments, you can send it directly to laart@metro.net.
For suggested talking points, please refer to our Metro Draft SEIR Public Comment Toolkit.
The deadline for comments on the Draft SEIR is Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 5 p.m.

Let them know that you are against this scheme to give away our communities to billionaire developers and mega-event promoters. And let them know that you're against the horrible LAART gondola project, which defies common sense and decency.
