You have multiple options to share your opposition to this project:
The California State Park and Recreation Commission has opened a “virtual open house” to gather public comments ahead of its consideration of a general plan amendment to allow McCourt’s gondola to build a station in the park, cut down 81 mature trees, and fly enormous gondola cars just 20-feet over the heads of park visitors.
This would be an outrageous, unconscionable violation of a park that our communities fought for and the people of California paid to create. But McCourt will be turning out his bought-and-paid-for supporters. So, we need every one of you to make your voices heard by submitting comments through the portal, which can be accessed through the virtual open house here: https://lastatehistoricparkgpa.com/voh/
A direct link to the public comment portal is here. You can also email your comments directly to lastatehistoricparkgpa@parks.ca.gov.
If you find the virtual open house confusing and difficult to navigate, stay tuned for in-person workshops that our new coalition member, Friends of L.A. State Historic Park, will be convening to help people navigate the virtual open house and provide comments.
